There are over 14,000 homeless people living in Massachusetts. 1,800 of these people live on the streets. Nearly 13,000 live in transitional living facilities.
In an article posted in the Chelmsford Independent a local volunteer Marc Macedo listed "The Riverview Foundation" as his favorite Charity. We want t to thank Mr. Macedo for his kind words but more importantly for his hard work supporting the "Wish Project" organization. This organization provides an invaluable service to the Mriimack Valley and especially to the City of Lowell.
TRF donated many items to the "Wish Project" that will be distributed as gifts during Christmas. These items were generously made by our "Knit Team" members. Anyone wishing to volunteer for our "Knit Team" please contact us from our website or call 978-387-7925 or 603-772-8110.
The Riverview Foundation is looking for local coffee roasters / distributors to supports one of our 10 shelters with our "Adopt A Shelter" coffee for a month program. Pine Street Inn of Boston uses 380-500 lbs of coffee per month. They serve over 1300 men and women each day which includes 8000 meals. Of course, coffee is on the top of ever guests list (right behind water ) especially during the winter months when it acts as a hand warmer too. TRF is presently apporaching local Coffee distributors and Roasters to provide one shelters coffee supply for a month . Kick-off date is slated for October 2010.
